KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Comic book creators can exclaim “Excelsior!” as they download a free eBook brimming with career advice. The new 77-page volume, titled Top Tips for Creating a Career in Comics features interviews and essays from more than two dozen professional writers and artists.

“I have a passion for the craft of creating comic books and have helps hundreds of aspiring writers and artists advance their careers,” Comics Career publisher Kirk Chritton said. “I’ve interviewed dozens of editors, publishers, writers, and artists over 30 years. The new book features highlights of the best advice they’ve shared.”

Some of the creators featured in the book include Sandman cover artist Dave McKean, acclaimed graphic novelist of My Friend Dahmer Derf Backderf, and long-time Superman writer Paul Kupperberg. In addition, editors from Marvel Comics and DC Comics discuss the process of selecting and working with new talent.
